[Apologies if you receive this more than once] ##################################################################### IEEE WETICE 2009 5th International Workshop on Collaborative Peer-to-Peer Systems CALL FOR PAPERS ##################################################################### June 29 - July 1, 2009, Groningen (The Netherlands) http://ast-deim.urv.cat/wiki/COPS09 ################################################################## # Papers Due: *** 20 February 2009 *** # Accepted papers will be published in the conference proceedings # by the IEEE Computer Society Press, which are indexed by EI. ################################################################## The workshop aims to become a small, high quality and interactive meeting for novel P2P ideas and proposals. On the one hand, Collaborative P2P systems aim to benefit from the huge amount of unused resources of desktop computers (content, data storage, cpu, bandwidth) to create the next generation of Internet Infrastructures. On the other hand, P2P is particularly challenging for developing collaborative information systems. In this line, P2P can be used to create social networks and communities, to discover users and information, to aggregate community contents or even as a communication medium for large groups. The COPS'09 workshop is at its fifth edition and aims to discuss new research ideas and applications in the young area of P2P. We encourage people to present and discuss their results to contribute to the development of a technology and of a shared vision of the field. +++++++++++++++++++ Topics of Interest +++++++++++++++++++ We seek high-quality and original contributions on the general theme of P2P systems. The following is a non-exhaustive list of topics of special interest: * P2P and Social Networks * P2P Groupware tools and architectures * P2P Internet Infrastructures * P2P Middleware * Security in P2P systems * Self-organization in P2P systems * Cooperative searching for P2P systems * Trust and reputation management in P2P systems * P2P economics * Cooperation in P2P systems * P2P grids * P2P software developement support * P2P applications and services * Industrial applications / P2P in use * P2P research projects ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ On-Line Submissions and Publication ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ In line with other workshops like IPTPS, COPS 2009 intends to bring together researchers and practitioners to discuss the key issues, approaches, open problems, innovative applications, and trends in this research area. We encourage submissions of position papers (2-6 pages) presenting novel ideas that may lead to insightful technical discussions at the workshop. Papers should contain original contributions not published or submitted elsewhere, and references to related state-of-the-art work. Authors of accepted papers are expected to present their views of the field at the oral presentation. Papers up to six pages (including figures, tables and references) can be submitted. Papers should follow the IEEE format, which is single spaced, two columns, 10 pt Times/Roman font. Papers should include a title, the name and affiliation of each author, an abstract of up to 150 words and no more than eight keywords. Authors should also provide contact addresses, if different from the submitting electronic address. All submissions should be electronic (in PDF) and will be peer-reviewed by at least three program committee members. Full papers accepted for the workshop will be included in the proceedings, published by the IEEE Computer Society Press. Note that at least one author from each accepted paper should register to attend WETICE 2009 to get the paper published in the Post-conference Proceedings If you have further questions or remarks, please do not hesitate to contact the workshop chair. Please submit your paper by accessing the easy Chair Submission Site (http://www.easychair.org/conferences/?conf=cops09). You can also send it by email to the Workshop chair (pedro.garcia@urv.cat) if you experience problems with the easyChair Web site. ++++++++++++++++ Important Dates ++++++++++++++++ * Submission Deadline: February 20, 2009 * Decision to paper authors: March 13, 2009 * Final version of accepted papers due to IEEE: April 10, 2009 * Conference dates: June 29 - July 1, 2009 ++++++++++++++++++++++++ Program Committee ++++++++++++++++++++++++ * Pedro García López, University Rovira i Virgili, Spain * Marco Aiello, University of Groningen, Netherlands * Michele Angelaccio, University of Rome Tor Vergata, Italy * Andrea D'Ambrogio, University of Rome Tor Vergata, Italy * Anwitaman Datta, NTU, Singapore * Xiaohui Gu, IBM T.
